Habitat Cabarrus Playhouse Program
Our Playhouse Program is a unique opportunity that allows Habitat Cabarrus volunteers to come together to work as a team and build playhouses for local families and community partners working with children. Groups can choose a location of their choice, and we can provide a “pop up” playhouse build. The Playhouse Program is designed to handle groups of 15-20 members in a 6-7 hour build session that provides team building opportunities with a community service component — a great alternative to ropes courses or golf!
Each playhouse is pre-cut and ready for volunteers to assemble the structure together. After they are carefully constructed and painted, Habitat donates the playhouses to local Habitat families, veteran and active duty military personnel families, and other local nonprofits serving children in need. A member of the Habitat Cabarrus construction team will also be on hand to assist with the construction of the playhouse.
There is a $2,500 donation that is requested in order to cover the cost of the building materials and to fund the construction of other Habitat Cabarrus housing projects in Cabarrus County (new home construction, critical home repairs …). Playhouse building dates are scheduled six weeks out in order to ensure that all materials are on hand for your team!
