2023 Women Build
Estimated date of kickoff: February 15, 2023
WHAT IS WOMEN BUILD?
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity of Cabarrus County initiative that empowers women to raise funds and build homes. We are encouraging women (and not excluding men) of all ages and from all walks of life to work together to build strength, stability and independence for local families by making homeownership a reality.
The power of a group of women is unstoppable and with this force for good, Habitat Cabarrus has a goal of having one home each year that is built and paid for primarily by women. Join us today in putting God’s love into action and build homes, community, and hope.
WHO IS THE HOME FOR?
The 2023 Women Build new home will be for Aiesha a single mother, and her four children.
WHAT WILL WE DO?
On your work day, your team will have the opportunity to learn new skills and work alongside of Aiesha and other partner families. The goal is for each element of this build – fundraising, volunteer groups, construction, meals, and the home dedication – to be organized by local women. If you are part of a team but don’t want to volunteer on the construction site there are plenty of other opportunities!
WHERE AND WHEN WILL THE HOME BE BUILT?
The Women Build home will be constructed in our Habitat Cabarrus community Magnolia Crossing. This neighborhood is located off McGill Road near the intersection of Highway 29.
The build is scheduled to begin in February 2023 and be completed in June 2023 (weather dependent).
WHO CAN JOIN MY TEAM?
The intent of Women Build is not to exclude men but to INCLUDE women and encourage them to build the home. The goal is for the home to be built and fundraised for primarily by women, but men are not excluded.
